Job Description :

In this role as a Quality assurance Engineer at Microchip, You should be responsible for Validating the RAID controller by executing test cases, analysis results evaluation, and proposed corrective actions.

Requirements :

• Quality assurance Engineer at Microchip, You should be responsible for Validating RAID controller by executing test cases, analysis, results evaluation, and proposed corrective actions.
• Understand product implementation reading functional specs, source code and engineering discussions
• Work together with software, drivers and firmware teams on root-causing defects.
• Reproduce, root cause, and Verify solutions to customer escalations in timely manner.
• Provide project status and estimates and track issues to closure with project managers
• Reviews and evaluates designs and project activities for compliance with quality assurance guidelines and standards; provides tangible feedback to improve product quality and mitigate failure risk
• Provides domain-specific expertise and overall software quality assurance leadership and perspective to cross-organization projects, programs, and activities
• Excellent knowledge of Storage Domain, and in-depth knowledge of usage scenarios. Ability to translate this into test.
• Communicates with executives on plans, updates, root cause analysis etc. Very good communication skills. Ability switch from high level executive summary to in depth technical analysis.

Qualifications :

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent.
• 0- 3 years’ experience in Testing Storage controllers, Server OS environment on File Systems, Storage Drivers, BIOS and Firmware
• Strong domain knowledge on RAID concepts in DAS or NAS environment.
• Knowledge on SAS/SATA/SSD/SCSI protocols.
• Strong experience in handling component Ownership responsibility, Creating test strategy and Test case development.
• Experience on Linux, Windows, and VMware platforms
• Experience with understanding and specifying test requirements.
• A QA Engineer should have experience in project scoping and test schedule as an architect
• Experience in Test management activity, Effort estimation, Resource Management, Test approach planning
• QA Engineer should have experience in defining test plan, test coverage.
• Experience in Agile (Scrum)methodologies, Bug Reporting, Log Analysis and follow up.
• System / Server bring up knowledge.
• Solid understanding of quality assurance practices and testing methodologies.
• Very good aptitude, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Be an energetic, creative, positive, and results-oriented Individual with emphasis on being a team player.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.
• Work independently and provide technical direction for junior team members
• Should have strong Computer Architecture background, should have good exposure to Hardware, BIOS, Firmware layers.
• Knowledge of Host environments Windows, Linux and VMware OS.
• Excellent Engineering documentation skills, verbal communication, and presentation skills, Well organized, methodical, and detail oriented.

Preferred Qualification:

• Knowledge of Enterprise servers and storage environments
• Experience in testing of Windows SDDC and VMware vSAN environments will be added advantage.
• Knowledge on Automation test framework and Test execution will be added advantage.
