Job Description :

Hitachi ABB Power Grids is looking for a highly motivated teammate ready to play a key role as an Associate Project Engineer.

Responsibilities :

• Preparing of cable schedule & termination details for the FST test setup.
• Analyzing of HVDC system behavior.
• Associate Project Engineer will conduct design review meetings.
• Taking Initiative in engineering process optimizations, standardization, etc.
• Associate Project Engineer will Closely interact with the project team and support the team for the smooth execution of the project.

Qualifications :

• A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
• 3-5 years of experience in simulator design and testing.
• Conversant with RTDS (Real-time digital simulator) hardware and systems.
• Good experience in using RSCAD software for AC and HVDC network modeling, dynamic fault simulator testing.
• Experience in interfacing RTDS with HVDC MACH or equivalent controllers.
• Experience in doing simulator setup for factory system testing.
• Work experience with HVDC LCC & VSC projects.
• Working knowledge with testing of IEC 61850 communication protocol.
• Experience in testing using Omicron secondary injection test kit.
• Knowledge in PSCAD/PSSE, ETAP software would be an advantage.
• Good knowledge of International electrical (IEEE/IEC) Standards.
• Experience in HVDC projects will be an added advantage.

The Hitachi ABB Power Grids Operations Center (INOPC) is a competence center with around 900 skilled engineers who focus on tendering, engineering, planning, procurement, functional system testing, installation supervision, and commissioning. However, over the last decade, it has evolved to become the largest engineering hub. The India Operations Centre is a key aspect of the Power Grids business Power Up transformation program.

The INOPC team at Chennai supports Hitachi ABB Power Grid’s units in more than 25 countries across a wide portfolio of all the four business units in the Power Grid business. To date, the team has executed engineering and commissioning for projects in more than 60 countries. As an Associate project engineer, you will join an aspiring team that works with the HVDC Power transmission links. It is a diverse and independent job, within our project groups, with lots of responsibility and you will have great opportunities to develop your skills within HVDC. Our department is responsible for the C & P simulator design and testing of the HVDC system in the FST. This includes design, documentation, dynamic performance testing of the HVDC control and protection systems in the FST.
