Job Description :
UST Global is looking for a highly motivated teammate ready to play a key role as a Database Administrator. As a member of the I&O engineering team; you will manage storage and backup platforms. You will combine your years of experience and industry best practices to design; install and operate storage platforms.
Job Responsibilities :
- Create and document storage procedures related to various maintenance activities.
- Interface with other I&O engineers to assist with project-related storage needs.
- Maintain all storage environment patches and firmware updates.
- Be a subject matter expert on Netapp; IBM; Oracle; Brocade storage and backup technologies available.
- Provide capacity; configuration; performance; and availability management services and reporting for Netapp; IBM and Oracle storage-related technologies/infrastructure.
- Work all storage-related issues and incidents
- Respond to an update on projects or tickets assigned through internal systems with complete notes; milestones; and the estimated time of completion.
- As a Database Administrator, you should provide regular updates on all projects and identifying potential risks to management.
- Create and maintain documentation to support the customer configurations for customers; as well as; shared environments.
- Create knowledge base articles that can be used by tier one support engineers in response to routine incidents.
- Identify and schedule routine maintenance activity for all storage infrastructure.
- Engineer and maintain storage environment characteristics; including physical array characteristics; logical disk layout; standard configurations; storage network.
- Analyze data and develop meaningful reports to be used by technical and business leaders.
- Serve as third tier escalation for incidents or problems which could be related to the storage environment.
- Manage advanced data protection functions such as replication; cloning; encryption; and snapshots as required by the business
- Analyze capacity and performance for all storage infrastructure to ensure availability growth and readiness for new customers.
Qualifications :
- Have 5 years’ experience as a dedicated storage engineer, and have designed and implemented a disaster recovery and backup plan
- Have Storage Technology related certifications or training highly desirable (IBM; NetApp; Oracle; Brocade; Quantum etc.).
- Have Experience with moving/migrating systems and data.
- Possess strong technical knowledge of server; storage; operating systems and network infrastructures highly are desirable.
- Are kind and mature
- Have excellent documentation; communication; and interpersonal skills.
- Focus and have analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- 5+ years’ experience managing enterprise-class storage arrays.
- 10+ years’ experience with storage protocols – SCSI; iSCSI; Fibre Channel; NFS; CIFS.
- Can mine performance and capacity data from enterprise arrays and formulate the valuable analysis.
- Understand replication and snapshot methodologies used in enterprise storage environments.
- Are experienced in maintaining high availability storage sub-systems; capacity and configuration.
