Swiggy is looking for a highly motivated candidate ready to play a key role as an Engineering Manager – Location Intelligence. The charter of this team is to build Location Intelligence products that help Swiggy build a better understanding of the real world and enable hyperlocal optimizations that significantly improve customer experience, growth, and profitability for Swiggy. We are looking for strong, highly motivated, independent engineers and data scientists, who are excited about working with large scale geo-spatial data and AI (ML and Deep Learning) to enable Location Intelligence. The technology solutions built by the Location Intelligence Team are at the heart of Swiggy’s ability to deliver food to customers.  The team’s charter encompasses various aspects of hyperlocal Location Intelligence, built using our internal data. This includes points of interest, metadata for POIs, addresses, routes, etc.

Role and Responsibilities :

• The engineering Manager- Location Intelligence at Swiggy will work closely with the Product Management, Business – Development, Design, and Operations team, enabling them by providing scalable and high-quality technology solutions at a rapid pace.
• They co-own the technology vision of the respective team and significantly contribute to the overall success of the team Work closely with Product, Data Science, and Product Ops teams for developing and validating location intelligence data.
• You will manage your business goals, contribute to product strategy and develop clear career paths for team members and help them growArchitect & design technically robust, flexible, and scalable solution Set up best practices for development and champion their adoption and at the same time

Job Requirements :

• We are looking for a passionate, entrepreneurial, hands-on Engineering Manager to join the Bangalore/Chennai Swiggy Engineering team
• One should have 8-11 years of experience in developing products with at 1.5- 3 years in leading a team
• Experience in leading a team of application and front-end / Back-end engineers to drive innovation in full-stack product development, while relentlessly improving performance, scalability, and maintainability.
• Prior experience with scalable Architecture managing team of (5-8 Coaching, mentoring managers, and Architects in the team.
• Experience in the geospatial/location intelligence domain and relevant open source technologies is a plus
• Good team management skills with the ability to multitask, strong problem solving and analytical skills Experience working with Product Managers and UX Designers
• Experience with web technologies, PHP/ Java, Python, Linux, Apache, MySQL, Solr, Memcache, Redis, javascript, ajax, etc.
• Experience with high-performance websites catering to millions of daily traffic is a plus with an ability to bring in software engineering life cycle best practices
