Vertica Consultant would be responsible for sharing technical knowledge and leadership in the delivery of Vertica solutions designed to meet customer’s business needs and, consequently, for understanding customer’s business requirements. As a trusted advisor you would create and maintain effective customer relationships to ensure customer satisfaction. Maintain knowledge of leading-edge technologies and industry/market domain knowledge.

The Vertica Consultant Services team actively contributes to the company’s solutions portfolio by providing information ranging from technical knowledge to methodologies based on experience gained from customer projects. The team shapes the technical direction and technical strategies within the organization and for external customers.

Roles :

• Vertica Consultant is responsible for the system, logical, and physical architecture of client Vertica solutions.
• Installation, configuration, and tuning of Vertica DB and related Micro Focus products.
• Evaluation of the health of Vertica installations as well as the impact of the operating system, storage, and network configurations and setting on Vertica performance.
• Responsible for implementing part or all the technical solution to the client, in accordance with an agreed technical design.
• Database Administration for Vertica DB in customer environments.
• Often leads small to medium technical projects.
• Works with and under the direction of the Project/Technical Manager and with customer nominated representatives.
• Liaises with Vertica Support, Field, and Engineering teams as appropriate.
• Provides technical support and input on the application of technology to a defined business segment.

Requirements :

• 5+ years of professional experience and a Bachelor of Arts/Science; without a degree, three additional years of relevant professional experience (8+ years in total).
• 3+ years of enterprise data warehouse experience.
• Senior-level knowledge of data architectures, design patterns, and technologies.
• Functional knowledge or/and experience with Python.
• Senior-level client/customer-facing skills.
• Functional knowledge and/or experience with Machine Learning algorithms and evaluation.
• Senior-level hardware and operating system knowledge and skills.
• Experience implementing solutions on Amazon Web Services, Azure, or Google Compute public clouds.
