The All India Council for Technical Education(AICTE) has extended the admission for technical courses to October 15, which was planned to be completed within September 15. This is the second time, AICTE has revised the academic calendar for the year 2020-21 within 3 days due to UGC guidelines has been changed to hold exams for the final semester.
“All the AICTE approved institutions/ universities are requested to follow UGC revised guidelines on exams issued on July 6 due to COVID-19 pandemic”, the technical education regulator has said.
The first round of counselling and admission to allocated seats in AICTE affiliated institutions will be completed within October 5. The second round of counselling will be taken place within October 15. AICTE has asked its affiliated institutions to postpone the classes if they have already started and it has asked to hold special classes for the students who are all going to appear for the final exams.
The universities has to start classes from August 17 in online/offline/blended mode as per AICTE instructions. For the fresh batch students, classes will begin on October 15. For the open and distance learning courses, the deadline for admission will be August 30, 2020 and February 28, 2021 respectively.
