The government of Tamil Nadu on Monday ordered Anna University to conduct a re-exam for engineering students who appeared for an online test in February.
Anna University Feb 2021 examination was conducted for one hour with Multiple Choice Questions. Engineering colleges complained that the pass percentage in the exam was low. Just 25% of students passed the Anna University Exam in February 2021.
Higher education minister K Ponmudi said, “Students complained that the online tests were not conducted properly because many objective questions are not related to the subjects.”.“The Chief Minister M.K.Stalin took a decision to conduct a re-exam for all four lakh students. All four lakh students can appear for the re-test which will be conducted for three hours as in other universities,” Ponmudi added.
Students who have passed the February Examination can write a retest if they wish. Students need not pay the exam fees.
The government also announced that examinations for college students, which were interrupted due to lockdown, would begin on May 25. “The announcements will be published by the respective universities, and students are asked to prepare for the exams,” a release from the state government said.
