TNEA process 2020:
TNEA 2020 is going to be different from the previous years right from registration till admission because of the COVID – 19 pandemic. It is already delayed and everything needs to be online where the candidates can register, apply and upload their documents from their place.
Eligibility Criteria:
Candidates who have cleared their HSC exams with a minimum average of 45% (General Category) 40%(BC/MBC/SC/ST/SCA) in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry put together are allowed to apply.
Important dates:
- Commencement of online registration: July 15, 2020
- Uploading Original certificates: Between July 31, 2020 to August 20, 2020
- Last date for submission of application form: August 16, 2020
- Issue of Random number: August 21, 2020
- Publication of TNEA Rank list: September 7, 2020
- Online Counselling: September 17, 2020 to October 6, 2020
Documents Required:
The following documents need to be enclosed with the application form during submission:
- Class 10th and class 12th Mark sheets
- Transfer certificate
- Identity proof
- Class 12 Admit card
- Caste certificate (If any)
- Nativity Certificate
- First graduate certificate (optional)
- Original copy of Space Reservation Form with DD
Steps to be followed:
Step 1: New user registration
The student needs to register through www.tneaonline.org. Fill in all the necessary details like mobile number, email ID, date of birth and password (Self-created)
Step 2: OTP Generation
After the details being submitted the candidate receives an OTP to the registered mobile number and an email. The details of the candidate need to be confirmed.
Step 3: Filling Details
After successful registration, the candidate needs to login using the email Id and password.
The candidate has to fill in all the details in the application form
Details to be filled:
- Name of the Parent/Guardian
- Address (District, State, Pin code, Nationality)
- Gender
- Community
- Nativity
- Caste name
Step 4: Application fee payment
Candidates need to pay the fee digitally either using credit card/debit card/internet banking facility.
- General Category – Rs. 500
- SC/ST/SCA – Rs. 250
The candidate will also receive the confirmation message on successful payment.
Step 5: Scholarship Information
Candidates can mention the annual income of the family and also avail the various scholarship schemes through TNEA by filling in the details of the scholarship.
Step 6: Academic Information
Candidates need to fill in the academic information like
- Name of school
- Year of passing
- District, state
- Qualifying examination
- Name of the board (HSC/CBSE/ISC)
- Group chosen, group code
- Marks obtained
- Class 12th registration number
On entering the details, candidate need to save and proceed.
Step 7: Save Application
On filling all the necessary additional information, the candidate can edit the details or make changes and then click on ‘Submit Application’.
Step 8: Print of Application form
Finally, the printout of the application form needed to be taken and submitted to the Facilitation centers with the relevant documents.
